In mobility classes/workshops, we work to release and rehydrate these tissues to help optimize your body’s natural function. class is a self-care treatment class, using a variety of different modalities from The Roll Model Method, to Zenga, to self-myofascial stretching and release. Yin yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of the popular physical and spiritual discipline of yoga where the asanas (poses) are more passive holds, with little muscular engagement. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues rather than focusing on the muscles. Yin yoga stretches and targets both the deep connective tissues between the muscles, and the fascia throughout the body. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, and improve flexibility. As one ages, flexibility in the joints decreases, and Yin yoga is a wonderful and relaxing way to maintain that flexibility.
